I just spent the last 10 days at 3 different conferences: Willow Creek Community Church's Group Life Conference, the Orchard Group's Annual Retreat and the Catalyst Conference. Even though it's difficult be away from home that long, the time away was worth it. The information shared at the conferences was great, but it wasn't the information that gave me a fresh look at group life.

In every small group there should always be a tension felt on the topic of openness and intimacy. Openness would mean that the group is inviting others to be a part of it. Intimacy defined as deep, lasting relationships where spiritual transformation takes place. |
