eymbworkbook.jpgThis workbook is a must read for every young men's small group.  It talks about sexual temptation and lays out God's plan for sexual purity in our lives.  Teenagers are surrounded by sexual images on a daily basis.  Arm them with the proper tools and give them the knowledge they need to fight temptation.

Group Discussions

This workbook breaks the discussions into 8 weeks.  Each week contains a long list of questions that are broken into 4 parts; Truth, Choice, Walk, and Talk. I would encourage you to also read the companion book, Every Young Man’s Battle, which has 23 chapters broken into 7 parts; this book offers several opportunities for group discussions.

Positives

This workbook is well organized and constantly references the real world examples talked about in the book.  It emphasizes every important point with scripture, and the book tackles the hard issues head-on.  The discussion questions are well thought out and give ample opportunities for deep discussions.  After using this workbook, your teens will have no doubts about what sexual purity is and what God’s plan is for their lives.

Negatives

The weekly discussions are a little too much for most teenage guys.  It is difficult to keep their attention throughout the entire series.

Rating

I give this workbook 4 ½ stars out of 5.  The book is well written, entertaining, informative, and essential for every teenage guy.  However, the discussions are a little too long.

HELPFUL HINTS
Incorporate additional information into your group discussions.  Talk to your teens about the physical and emotional risks of sexual impurity.  Organize a “male” outing, such as a camping trip, to increase trust and promote open discussions about such a difficult topic.  Layout some ground rules for group discussions.  Your teens will not open up if they don’t feel safe.
